The Govt of Pakistan has started a program to eliminate the O & A level education in upper schools. The decision to implement the uniform curriculum around all provinces is under consideration by Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI) Government. Briefing to National Assembly standing committee Federal Education Minister Mr.Shafqat Mehood mentioned the remarks.
He added that the plan was not under consideration to implement immediately as there are many other important issues to resolve first. At present our education system has many other flaws, those directly need to be mended by which the plan could bring to the next level. The Minister said that there are three education systems in our Pakistan, public institutions, elite private schools and madrassas, all of these are completely different from each other. He told a senior committee is working into this particular matter, by the consulting all aspects it will formulate a comprehensive policy. Federal Education Minister also informed the legislators that the Ministry is working on a compatible curriculum that will be introduced soon. The Minister also mentioned 24 million children were out of schools and the Government was active to bring those all to schools.
